My name is Dawn. I am a native Chinese speaker living in Beijing, and working as a bilingual teacher, translator, and freelance writer now. I was granted the teacher’s qualification certificate when I finished my bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and literature in Beijing. Then I went abroad and completed my Master's degree in Comparative Literature at King's College London in the UK.
Experience
After graduation, I have been working for some of China’s national and international media as an English journalist and editor. • Teaching Chinese language and literature to senior school students • Giving specific instruction to cope with the requirements of national exams • Using different teaching aids, such as pictures and music, and internet resources to make the courses more lively • Teaching and devising new curriculum on classical Chinese texts, adjusted to young pupils’ comprehension needs • Devising a new method which improved students with their writing • Designing questionnaires using teaching research methods for research on ‘How reciting text influences student 我曾教过小学生古汉语，中学语文，并在伦敦的汉语角教外国人中文，为外国留学生批改作文。我会在课堂上使用报纸、电影、音乐等激发你对中文的兴趣和感觉，并推荐适合你的app以及podcasts来提高你的阅读及写作能力。 It would be great if you could book a trial lesson with me firstly, that I could evaluate the level of your Chinese and prepare for the class based on your very personal requirements. I will lead you to read Chinese newspapers that are written according to different levels of HSK. It was made fun, meanwhile agood way to learn Chinese society and culture.The topic of our discussion could be basic on this, or you are welcome to bring anything you like to discuss together. For basic learners, you could learn pinyin and characters, grammar points and sentence structure through it, for superior ones, I hope you could challenge yourself to paraphrase the news,and I will correct it for you.

Hobbies
In my spare time, I love learning languages, now I am learning Spanish. Also, I like reading and writing, and I am a blogger and a podcaster. At the same time, I live with my cat, and learning cooking. Cycling and some outdoor activities are my favorite too, because I love to go into the nature as much as I can.
